Opening a private safe deposit locker at Heathrow Safe Deposit is simple, secure, and can usually be completed in a single visit.
We’ve made the process as straightforward as possible, so you can feel confident knowing your valuables are stored in one of the UK’s highest resistance-graded vaults.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Book an Appointment
All visits are by appointment only.
Please call us on 020 8574 5009 to schedule your visit.
Appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
We are open Tuesday to Sunday - 11:30 AM to 6:15 PM
Step 2: What you need to bring
Please bring the following original documents with you:
For the Main Account Holder:
- A valid UK passport or full UK driving licence
- A recent proof of address, such as:
- Utility bill
- Bank statement
- Council tax letter (dated within the last 3 months)
Adding a Nominee?
If you would like to register a nominee (such as a spouse or family member), they must:
- Attend the appointment with you
- Bring the same original documents listed above
Step 3: Choose your locker size
Once your documents have been verified, we will show you the available locker sizes. You can choose from a range of options — from small to extra-large, depending on what you’d like to store (gold, jewellery, documents, investment bars, etc.).
We will help you choose the most suitable size based on your needs.
Step 4: Make Payment & Register
To open your locker account, the following fees are payable on the day:
- £100 refundable key deposit
- £25 one-time registration fee
- First year’s rental, payable in advance (based on the locker size you choose)
We accept major debit and credit cards as well as cash payments.
We will also set up a Direct Debit so that your locker renews automatically every year on your renewal date.
A payment receipt will be emailed to you once your registration is complete.
Step 5: Biometric Access Setup
Security is at the heart of what we do.
As part of your registration, we will enrol you in our biometric access system, which includes:
- Swipe card access
- Facial recognition
- Fingerprint scanner
You will also receive your two physical keys. We do not keep any spare or master keys. Only you (and your registered nominee, if any) can access your locker.
Step 6: Start Using Your Locker
Once everything is set up, you can begin using your locker immediately. You are welcome to visit as often as you like during our opening hours — just call in advance to book a time.
